Pivot Materials
Safer, Stronger, Sustainable Materials
Our Mission: Bring Sustainable Biomaterials Mainstream
Using Bamboo Fibers
SAFER.
Naturally, bamboo has both antibacterial and antifungal properties, making it difficult for pathogens to adhere. Pivot’s process does not use harsh chemicals either. Bamboo also absorbs carbon dioxide when it grows, making bamboo safer for both people and the environment.
STRONGER.
Due to Pivot’s unique fiber process, our fibers maintain their mechanical properties, which we are able to pass along to our materials. Our fibers are stronger than comparative fibers that are heat treated or processed with harsh chemicals.
SUSTAINABLE.
Bamboo is the fastest growing plant on earth, and it grows easily without pesticides and very low maintenance. It is available abundantly in tropical countries. Naturally, a sustainable choice for use with biomaterials!
The Future of Plastics
Plastic is an integral part of our life and it is here to stay, but we can make it’s presence more sustainable. We need to adapt and change from a linear plastic economy to a circular economy.
The main components of this change will be:
- 1. Reduce, Reuse and Recycle Materials
- 2. Use Compostable Materials
- 3. Use Biodegradable Materials
- 4. Design with End-of-Life in Mind
